The good news came last week, when Save published a coupon insert over the Independence Day holiday weekend, for the first time since 2020. The bad news comes this week, when Save – and SmartSource too – plan to take the post-holiday weekend off.
This is the ninth weekend of the year without any coupons. But it’s the first insert-free weekend in seven weeks, since way back over Memorial Day weekend – the longest stretch of time coupon inserts have been published with regularity all year.
Of course, part of the reason is that SmartSource and Save have been swapping Sundays ever since then, with one or the other publishing an insert while the other took a weekend off. So overall, there haven’t necessarily been more inserts during that time, they’ve just been more spread out.
