You may be searching for Easter eggs this weekend – but don’t search for coupons in your Sunday newspaper, because you won’t find any.
These days, you never really know when the coupon insert publishers are going to take a weekend off. But it’s always a safe bet that they’ll be taking off Easter weekend, as they have just about every year in recent memory.
Just two years ago, Easter weekend was the very first weekend of the year when there were no coupon inserts. But times have changed. This year, there have already been three insert-free weekends so far – the last one just two weeks ago – making this weekend the fourth.
And with demand for newspapers and printed coupons declining, it’s a safe bet there will be more insert-free weekends to come.
