This is not your typical Sunday coupon preview. After one of the longest coupon insert dry spells ever, comes one of the largest coupon insert bonanzas ever.
Two RedPlum and three Smartsource inserts are scheduled for release this weekend, with many due to receive an additional Johnson & Johnson Target coupon insert to boot. It’s not unusual for RedPlum to double up on inserts at times, but three Smartsource inserts? A combined 132 pages with $100 worth of coupons inside is not only uncommon, it’s unprecedented: Smartsource‘s parent company, News America Marketing, is calling it the “largest Sunday newspaper coupon insert in company history.”
“January 6th is going to be a blockbuster date for coupon clippers,” News America Marketing executive West Naze is quoted as saying in a company news release (an advance copy of which was provided to Coupons in the News). “We recognize the need to get the most out of every dollar throughout the year, and especially after the holidays,” adds company president Chris Mixson. “So the timing of our largest collection of coupons appearing the first Sunday in January is perfect.”
Of course, not every market gets every coupon, so you may find you don’t get everything on the list below. But Smartsource promises that “each market can expect to see a larger number of coupons than they see in their usual weekly insert.”
After three weeks’ worth of no Smartsource and RedPlum at all (read more about that here: “Sunday’s Coupons – An Extra-Long Holiday Drought Begins”), better start looking for those scissors now.
