No Sunday Coupon Sneak Peek

The coupons were back – and then they weren’t.

It was only two weeks ago when there were no coupon inserts in your Sunday newspaper. SmartSource and Save returned last week – and now they’re taking the weekend off again, ahead of Labor Day.

It’s not uncommon for the coupon publishers to take Labor Day weekend off. But this holiday weekend comes after eight previous coupon-free weekends this year, which certainly is uncommon compared to previous years.

And it won’t be the last this year. The traditionally coupon-free weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s are still ahead. And there’s no telling what other random weekends the insert publishers might choose to take off before then.

While we wait to find out, you can search our coupon database for additional coupons. And be sure to look at the latest cash-back offers from Ibotta, Checkout 51 or Makeena for additional savings, or check out Merryfield or Fetch Rewards to see how you can turn your receipts into gift cards.

And watch for your coupons to return next weekend – for at least a little while longer.

  1. This week at CVS there we a deal on Vaseline lotion to spend 12 and get 4 dollars in extra bucks plus they advertised a MFR coupon for 4 off 2 vaseline lotions. The restrictions were to exclude the trial and the travel size. When purchased the items the coupon did not come off and show up in the list of coupons you were using. At first customer service and the CVS store personnel refused to honor the coupon they placed on everyones account claiming that the 10 ounce size was also excluded until I realized that in the pageviews of CVS they stated again in clear English that the 10 ounce and the other sizes were included. The only exception was trial and travel sizes which was also on the coupon. In the store they claimed that only the very large size was ho ord was because it was the only size pictured on the coupon. Note also that shopmium also rejected the 10 ounce size with their Vaseline coupon. The corporate office for vaseline did not take responsibility for what they called CVS’s coupon.
