The recent news that Valpak has acquired Savings.com has raised the profile of both companies, making consumers realize there’s more to online coupons than Coupons.com, SmartSource and Redplum.

The Salt Lake Tribune’s Lesley Mitchell says the news “puts the spotlight on some lesser-known websites that can save you money.”

Savings.com has coupon codes for local and national merchants, as well as printable grocery coupons powered by CouponNetwork, another source for online savings. One of the newest printable sites is CommonKindness, which donates a portion of each coupon redeemed to local nonprofits.

Then there are sites that allow you to load digital coupons onto your store’s loyalty cards, like SavingStar and Cellfire.

You could spend hours perusing so many sites looking for savings. And when you’re done, come back! We’ll be waiting.
